Dallas Stars winger Roope Hintz will not play in Wednesday's Game 5 against the Avalanche because of an upper-body injury.
Dallas leads the series 3-1 and can close it out.
Hintz left the Game 4 win in the first period after blocking a shot, though he also was cross-checked by Nathan MacKinnon before that, so it's not clear how he was injured.
Hintz has two goals and four assists in the playoffs, with a goal and three of those assists coming in Dallas' Game 2 win.
Coach Pete DeBoer made the announcement on his status, adding that defenseman Chris Tanev will play Wednesday night. He left in the third period of Game 4 after being checked into the boards.
Radek Faksa checks into the lineup with Hintz out. He hasn't played since Game 1.
